At the start of March I tagged along with the mustard-clad Manchester University Jazz Orchestra on a bus up to the north east, to cover their set competing in the annual Great North Big Band Jazz Festival. A class day filled with some stellar performances from bands based all over the north, and MUJO managed to bring it home with an adjudicator's award for the most entertaining set.
